Hydraulink network partner Complete Hose supports $22 million i98FM Illawarra Convoy for people with life-threatening medical conditions

Hydraulink network partner Andrew Turner of Complete Hose is supporting with unabated enthusiasm this year’s i98FM convoy of trucks and motorbikes in the Illawarra to raise money for people affected by life-threatening medical conditions and those who support them.

After more than a decade supporting what has become the largest truck and motorbike convoy in the southern hemisphere, the public-spirited businessman and his team are giving back to the community again this year by joining the radio station i98fm event, which has eclipsed $22 million dollars raised since its inception in 2005. More than 700 trucks travel from Appin South32 Colliery to Shellharbour Regional Airport in convoy, supported by thousands of well-wishers along the route.

The event – one of the largest regional fundraisers in Australia – returned for its 19-year anniversary on Sunday 19th November, to raise even more funds to provide direct support to individuals and families affected by potentially life-threatening medical conditions, as well as charities that work with such people, and local hospitals that help them.

“I am just one of thousands of participants and volunteers involved with the event, which the Illawarra Community Foundation benefits from to bring greater caring to the lives of people doing it tough – and supporting those who do a great job in supporting them,” said Andrew, before the Complete Hose team set out on the convoy. The event attracts registrations and merchandise purchases from all over Australia, with direct sales from its own brand-new Convoy Headquarters in donated premises.

Hydraulink Franchise Manager Wayne Abbott says Andrew is too modest to admit just how much time and energy he puts into the event and what he has raised over the years, “but you can bet he has helped put smiles on a lot of faces at a time they need it most.”

Hydraulink is supporting Complete Hose’s community initiative with branded material drawing attention to the cause. The hundreds of members of the expanding Hydraulink hose, fittings, and service company share a family and community ethos across its network of more than 400 service points in Australia, New Zealand, and Oceania,” says Wayne.

“Not only do members of our network actively support each other with expertise across the various industries for which we work – ranging from civil engineering, agriculture, and mining, through to transport and logistics and many others – but we support them in giving back to the communities of which they are part. Being part of a business family is not all about work – it is about sharing experience and investing in your own community. In this regard, Andrew is generously and whole-heartedly a champion.”

i98FM Breakfast Show hosts Marty Haynes, Christian McEwan and Bella Leone helped to launch the event at the brand new i98FM Illawarra Convoy shop and headquarters located at Croome Lane, Albion Park Rail. They were joined by members from the local truck and motorbike community along with many of the recipients of funding provided by the Illawarra Community Foundation, the benefitting charity of Convoy.
